I was able to review a day's lesson on the computer and on my phone (android), but I wasn't able to figure out how to do that on the iPad. I've downloaded the program on my phone and iPad, however navigation on the latter is lacking. For the extended reading, nearly all of the spoken words aren't registered (however I can't be sure if it's because my pronunciation is so bad or if it is a defect of the programming). The vocal recognition mostly works, however the longer the phrase expected the less likely it seems to register. It seems to work well, however I feel unsure of the exact meaning of some new words or the reasoning behind some of the grammatical rules (there is no explanation of feminine or masculine nouns/verbs which appears to be a feature of the language). The program is completely immersive in the language being taught, so only the language being taught is used and the meaning of words are inferred through the use of still images. The user is left to guess what corrections need to make to get a better score the next time. I'm able to remember the words and phrases as they're presented and it provides some quantitative feedback on pronunciation with a score bar for each word. For the most part, the program seems to be working well for a beginner's level. I have held off on doing a review until now, having completed 3 weeks of French. I normally don't write so many online reviews, however the Rosetta Stone service solicited a review three days after I had subscribed to their "Unlimited Languages Lifetime Access". But what of the two past inquiries and the case number that's also gone unanswered for a week now? Responding to me here trying to show the public how much you care? Responding again about the same issue that's gone ignored time and again? Really? UPDATE: Seems I have received a response asking me to contact their (once awesome and prompt) customer support. So, guess I will uninstall what has become a useless tool and chalk it up to experience. Even much much worse, they no longer respond to inquiries. I have mentioned this numerous times and never received anything but the boilerplate generic response. Worse, much worse, the program drags when loading. Now, a year after purchase, the program makes it VERY difficult to go back and review, as upon completion of a Unit / Lesson, it is unable to continue to the next one in order. As far as learning goes, if you're a beginner, best you get a grip on basic conjugations of AR, ER, and IR verbs first, or you will encounter much frustration. Good price, responsive and informative customer service and prompt replies to emails. Save your money.Īt the onset, all was great. To the contrary, it's WORSE - in SO many respects. Except for making more money, there's nothing - absolutely nothing - that's better about than the old version. Their new version is simply a way to financially screw people over. If I click "continue" at the end of that very same lesson, then guess what! It takes me back to. How many times will RS ask me to repeat the same lesson? Received a score of 100% the first time, which isn't hard to do. You'll just have to remember where you are. Not so with the "new-&-improved" version.

With the old program, the user knew where he was, because the lesson's NAME was at the top of the screen.

Have to shut down the program and restart it. The all-too-familiar blue wheel just spins for minutes at a time. First of all, the program is completely buggy. It's the new Internet version and, trust me when I tell you - it SUCKS. A friend bought me a $179.00 subscription for the "new-&-improved" version. I'd rate Rosetta Stone with negative numbers if they were available! Rocket Languages, Babbel and Duolingo are options that outshine and are all better choices. Everyone I know is going to learn about this money-grubbing, below- average sham of a language company! As one disappointed client states below."I feel like they sold me a product which was then stolen from me." There are at least 7 competitive options that outpace Stone's outdated language company. I am done with this company and plan on taking my issues further. Just look at the generic response this company uses in response to your complaints below.

Good luck understanding the person expected to assist you when you need support as they barely speak your language. in CD format which is only fit for the recycling bin?! Why must older clients pay more than newer clients?! WE feel like we've been ripped off! Their service/support is a joke. Rosetta Stone does NOT care about their clients in ANY Way, Period!.TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE!!! Why must an existing customer pay for an additional online product/service when he/she already purchased the product for $500.
